With the aim of presenting an “innovation festival” that covers the entire electronics manufacturing supply chain and focuses on smart factories, new energy vehicle technologies, and the digital future, productronica Shanghai took place at the Shanghai New International Expo Center. With 67,184 visitors, an exhibition area of nearly 100,000 square meters, and 1,156 exhibitors. Among them, the Komax Group presented its message “One Stage, One Presence, One Voice” and a wide variety of highly innovative solutions for different production environments.

For the Komax Group, productronica Shanghai is an important venue for meeting with customers, partners, and industry representatives in a market that is evolving rapidly and places high demands on innovation, speed, and local presence. “China is now extremely innovative. Highly advanced machines are being developed here, and life moves fast in everyday business,” reports Rene Scheurer, Vice President of the Center of Competence China. “The pace in China is incredible, and I see that as a positive thing, because China contributes significantly to new developments. And that is clearly evident at this year’s productronica Shanghai.”

Expansion of local production is moving forward
In China, the Komax Group is focusing on growth, market proximity, and an organizational structure that effectively combines local expertise with global collaboration. Over the past two years, the company has made targeted investments in China, such as the acquisition of Hosver, the leading manufacturer of machines for processing high-voltage cables used in electric vehicles. Furthermore, the investment in E-Plus, the largest provider of digital smart factory solutions for the wire processing industry in China, and an exclusive agreement for the distribution of its product portfolio outside of China are contributing to the further strengthening of the Group’s market position.

“The expansion of local machine production in China is also progressing steadily, and our development department has grown by 50 percent in just one year. We have expanded our expertise and resources and manufacture in China highly complex, customer-specific products for the Asian market,” Rene Scheurer continues. He has lived and worked in China for about 20 years and particularly values “the competitive environment, the pressure, the challenges, but also the opportunities China offers.” It is important to mention the close collaboration with other Komax Group locations, such as the headquarters in Dierikon, when it comes to technologies with a high degree of automation. “We work together as equal partners in the development and production environment.”
