Insights into the world of Komax in Dierikon on Future Day 2025.
Last Thursday was National Future Day in Switzerland. On this day, students in grades 5 to 7 have the opportunity to gain their first impressions of the professional world. Komax in Dierikon and Schleuniger in Thun opened their doors and gave a total of 33 children an insight into the various working environments in an industrial company. They were introduced to the training professions in which Komax and Schleuniger provide apprenticeships in Switzerland.
At Schleuniger in Thun, participants were given a tour of the production facilities and the Test & Training Center, and were able to carry out minor tasks as part of a training profession. The program in Dierikon included a visit to the showroom, where participants were also allowed to carry out simple tasks on machines, as well as a tour of the production facilities. After a lively discussion about their experiences during the lunch break, the children had a craft task to complete in the afternoon. This year, they worked with their supervisors to make a small metal lantern. They shaped the metal elements, soldered and wired light-emitting diodes and battery holders, and assembled them into the housing. The result was a lantern in which the light diodes light up individually and at random intervals, creating a flame effect. Some impressions of Future Day 2025 can be found here:
