The CoaxCenter 6000 Plus is now available with tinning- and twisting-function.

Wire manufacturers are challenged and under pressure. They are confronted with a wide variety of cable types that require flexible and high-precision processing solutions as well as different tools, processes, and quality standards. Manual steps such as cutting to length, stripping, crimping, and testing are time-consuming and prone to errors. Especially with fine strands and small cross-sections, such as those found in industrial applications, data and telecommunications, or medical technology, even the smallest deviations can lead to malfunctions or even failures. In addition to meeting short delivery times, the trend toward ever greater miniaturization, and increasing quality demands from customers, cable manufacturers today must above all be flexible and able to adapt their production quickly and efficiently.

This is exactly where Schleuniger comes in with its CoaxCenter 6000 Plus All-In-One Processing Center. The platform for fully automatic processing of microcoaxial, coaxial, and single-conductor cables is specially designed for applications that require maximum flexibility, precision, and process reliability. It processes both cable ends in a single cycle and enables the processing of extremely short cables from a length of 15 millimeters, optionally even from 9 millimeters. When processing semi-rigid (conformable) coaxial cables, a linear feed unit with wire gripper and clamping function ensures length accuracy within hundredths of a millimeter.

Configurable process modules with tinning and twisting
Thanks to the possibility of integrating up to six processing stations, the CoaxCenter 6000 Plus can be adapted to individual production needs and delivers maximum performance. Whether it is for high-mix or high-volume productions. It now also features twisting and tinning functions, benefiting wire manufacturers in the industrial sector in particular. Using the X1585 tinning module, strand wire ends can be tinned precisely, lead-free, and reliably on the CoaxCenter 6000 Plus, thanks to a constant tin flow, smoothly variable pump speed, and precisely adjustable temperature.

The twisting station STW 1100 twists conductor strands up to a stripping length of 25 millimeters, whereby the twisting and pulling speed can be programmed. It is installed in the CoaxCenter 6000 Plus on the integrated standard quick-change applicator base plate. In conjunction with the stored production data, it is thus possible to switch between crimping and twisting in the shortest possible time and without recalibrating the station.

Quality control for highest process and product quality
Another highlight of the CoaxCenter 6000 Plus is quality control. The integrated QCam 360 camera system inspects every single layer and cable end, automatically sorting out rejected parts and reproducing them. This happens inclusive real-time display on the user screen during ongoing production, regardless of the cable structure or composition.

The symmetrically closing crimp press for very small and delicate crimping applications includes a split-cycle function for crimping closed terminals, a pneumatic interface, and a finely adjustable tool holder. In combination with crimp force monitoring, the CoaxCenter 6000 Plus ensures the highest level of process and product quality. With the RotaryUnit 6000, it features the fastest rotation unit currently available on the market, offers full automation with minimal space requirements, and is the most flexible crimping machine worldwide thanks to its wide processing range.
