Komax certainly chose a propitious moment to set foot in Brazil. That said, Komax do Brasil has shown truly remarkable development in the 25 years since. Here’s how.

In the 1990s, Brazil’s economy was going through a number of huge transformations. In the process, the country became more open and appealing to foreign investors. At the same time, Komax was expanding its global footprint and decided to establish a local presence in South America, to better serve its customers in the region. That’s why, in 1995, Komax do Brasil was officially founded in São Paulo with three employees, seeing the launch of a service and sales organization to cover Brazil and other South American countries.

Growing along with the customers

Starting some time ahead of major automotive expansion in the region, which involved establishing new OEM installations and expanding existing ones, we were able to grow along with our customers, most of them Tier 1 suppliers to OEMs, in a dynamic relationship that has always been based on mutual trust and commitment. This exceptional relationship, combined with our dedicated employees, has been the driving force behind Komax do Brasil’s success from the very first day.

Building both innovation and passion

Komax do Brasil’s values have always been a reflection of our headquarter culture, where customer focus has been consistently strong throughout our tightly knit team. I noticed this on my first day and it has not changed since. I believe that this is also a key factor in our success. Granted, innovations and technology have shaped our segment. But without our keen eye for the customers’ needs and our passionate employees, the outcome would not have been the same. 

Nurturing and retaining talent

Most of our employees stay with Komax do Brasil for a very long time, their loyalty reflects the respect and fairness in our relationship. It is also worth noting that half of our workforce started at the company as trainees. We believe in talented people and give them the opportunity to develop, and in turn they offer high-level performance and commitment, which are crucial to fulfilling our customers’ needs and demands. And because people stay here for longer, we have also been able to witness several marriages and births as well as many employee achievements that have made us genuinely proud and happy to belong to this team. To us as Brazilians, maintaining close relationships is the norm and is important in order to have fun and be happy in the workplace, where we spend a lot of our time and put in our very best efforts.

This year we complete the first 25 years of our success story thanks to our dedicated employees and long-term customer partnerships. We have been through a lot together, experiencing many achievements as well as some hard lessons. All this has contributed to shaping our perseverant and resilient team. It means we win, and we overcome difficulties, together.
