Marriage including Foilcutting

For CdTe and CI(G)S modules, the lamination foil must be cut and laid with ultra precision because these modules are sealed along the edge. To achieve this high degree of precision, Komax Solar has combined foil cutting and marriage functions in a single machine.

The foil is drawn out free of stress and then precisely trimmed with rotating blades. Foil grippers hold the foil even during trimming to minimize handling. The minimal cutting scraps are automatically removed from the machine and collected in a container for recycling. The coated substrate, the laminating foil and the cover glass are centered in the middle and then precisely layered one on top of the other with a flipper or portal.
