Prior to today's Annual General Meeting, Komax will receive an award for "outstanding achievement in the development of technologies" from the "Institut International de Promotion et de Prestige" (IIPP). For the past forty years, the IIPP has been making awards to companies, associations or individuals for outstanding achievements in the fields of culture, science, the humanities, economics and technology. The Institute, a politically independent organization headquartered in Geneva, worked closely together with UNESCO for a long time and is now active in more than 65 countries.

The prize "Mérite au Développement des Technologies" is conferred for outstanding achievements in the development of technologies. Some of the factors that were decisive in selecting Komax as this year's prize-winner were its sophisticated and technologically excellent product range, its leading market position and global presence plus the Group's intensive involvement in development and engineering. More than 180 people (25% of the total headcount) work in this area, and for years Komax has been investing about 9% of its sales in securing its technology leadership.

This is only the second time that the prize has ever been awarded to a Swiss firm.
