Sustainability as a corporate duty
Komax strives to combine successful long-term business activity and commercial growth with environmentally aware and socially responsible conduct. The corresponding measures are planned at the various sites in a decentralized manner and then implemented after taking local parameters into account.
Environmental protection
Komax is an advocate of environmentally sound, resource-conserving production, and wherever possible uses renewable energies such as solar or hydroelectric power. In recent years, one of the Group’s sources of electricity has been RegioMix green power from small utilities in Central Switzerland. Komax’s commitment to the environment is also underscored by its own photovoltaic power plant on the roof of the production building in Rotkreuz. This plant has a total area of around 300 square metres and an output of approximately 40 kWp. Komax also provides incentives for its employees to use public transport. Through these multifaceted activities, the Group contributes to reducing CO2 emissions.
Occupational safety and preventive health care
Komax attaches the greatest importance to ensuring the workplace safety of its employees, as the company’s destiny is shaped by their efforts and commitment. All legislation and safety standards are implemented rigorously and without exception. It goes without saying that personal safety equipment is provided free of charge. Komax also runs health promotion programmes at various sites.
Training and development
The world is changing at a dramatic pace. For this reason, Komax supports the personal and professional advancement of its employees by giving them opportunities to attend training and development events. Training objectives and courses are agreed with employees on an individual basis. Moreover, the in-house language courses offered by Komax proved very popular once again in 2010.

Komax vocational training
Komax also invests in tomorrow’s workforce. In 2010, 59 apprentices underwent training in seven professional areas at Komax sites. Around 10 percent of the entire Komax workforce in Switzerland consists of apprentices, a figure that is almost twice as high as the Swiss average. In Switzerland, Komax trains apprentices as multi-skilled mechanics, electronics technicians, administrative assistants, IT specialists, automation technicians, design engineers and logisticians.
Social commitment
Every year, Komax supports charitable organizations by making substantial donations and contributions.
