Introduction

KomaxCAO (Cutting Area Optimization) is a high performance production control center for the wire processing industry and fully meets the requirements placed on a modern manufacturing execution system (MES). Function

Fewer scrap

Parts like crimps, seals and tools are checked automatically and machines are fed with centrally managed crimp data automatically. These features plus forced measurements ensure that errors are detected and avoided early on. Time-consuming and expensive reworking becomes a thing of the past. KomaxCAO prevents jobs from being assigned to the wrong machine and produced incorrectly. Integrated tool management ensures that the service lives of tools are observed and that tools are never put to incorrect use.

Better utilization of machine capacity – increased productivity

With KomaxCAO, companies can distribute jobs to machines in an ideal way taking into account setup times, cut output, machine capabilities and desired deadlines. KomaxCAO assesses the utilization of machine capacity and provides constant information about the progress of production. A complex algorithm that distributes jobs fully automatically and continuously checks the state of production is available as an option.

Full transparency and overview

The system recognizes the status of all jobs and their location and determines whether they are late and when they will probably be completed (option: Gantt diagram). The setup state and status of the machines can be seen from the work list as well the cutting performance and failure rate. The system archives all important data so if an incident occurs the company can check afterwards who was producing what, when and where.
The convenient search functions are also extremely useful for customer audits.
